Traditional style pheasant hunts allow you and your friends to have pheasant put out along side the quail. This arrangement presents an element of sure surprise. Just when you expect a typical flush of a covey of quail you get surprised with a large, darting bird exiting the cover. If you’ve never tried it, you’re missing out; traditional pheasant hunts are a classic sporting event amongst nearly all of our guests.

Not only do we have traditional pheasant hunting but we offer a different, more competitive form in our Continental Shoot, which most of our guests have never experienced. In the Continental Shoot, 10 of our guests surround a tower just outside of our lodge as our guides randomly release birds in all directions. What a great way for you and your friends to have some healthy competition!

Keep in mind that McCranie Plantation is committed to see hunting passed down from one generation to the next. Any child under 12 hunts with their parent(s) for free!
